Meet Dahlia, whom I photographed on her 9th day of life! If you follow my blog, I posted her parents’ maternity session a few posts ago that you can see here! Dahlia was as sweet as they came, and slept the entire time. She didn’t make a peep. I could have posed her all day! Since I knew what her name was going to be ahead of time, I went out the day before to my favorite florist, The Blossom Boys, and they got me fresh dahlia flowers to use for the session, and it turned out beautiful.

I photographed Aspen when she was 8 days new, and I couldn’t wait to meet her, as it was her aunt that connected her mom and I months before she made her appearance! She was a few days over her due date, and when this happens I usually like to see the babies more around day 6 or 7, because “overcooked” babies tend to be more alert sooner. But Aspen was still very sleepy and I was able to get all the poses! I even got an Aspen setup in, that was a must with her name haha. It was a perfect session.

Perfect little Hendrixx indeed. Hendrixx came to see me in his second week of life and he was so so sleepy! I see so many babies and there are those who are alert from the beginning, the ones that want to be awake but are too sleepy, and the plain sleepy ones who will sleep through anything. The latter was how Hendrixx was. I met his parents when I did their maternity session, and I was so happy to get to meet and photograph him! His mother is an amazing singer (which makes me to think of  Jimmy Hendrix) so it was a must for me to incorporate music in the session and I am so happy how it all came out! I love when my clients think that I am Chicago best newborn photographer. This gorgeous mama first contacted me when she was expecting, and opened up to me about her life, and how she had been following my work for a very longtime and so excited that it was finally her turn to be in front of my lens. I instantly felt a connection with her and I knew that both her maternity and newborn sessions were going to be amazing, and they were! Little miss Morgan was eight days overdue, and when this happens, I highly recommend doing the sessions as soon as possible, because babies that go past their due dates are extremely alert and tend to skip the “sleepy” newborn stage. So with this in mind, she agreed to come in on day 6, as Morgan was indeed showing signs of being very alert already. She was an absolute sweetheart, and I could tell that she was just a very calm baby overall. I am so happy we got to do the session in time to capture her sleepiness! She had 2 dimples that made me melt every time she flashed them, shew was just pure perfection. When my client was expecting, I suggested we capture a “before” photo, so we can replicate the pose when Morgan was here to do the “after” and it was a great success! It is such a pleasure to me to give my clients the best experience and photos, I pour my heart and soul into each and every session and I am so happy when the result brings my clients to tears. I truly have the best job in the world and have to pinch myself that I get to do this everyday! Congratulations to this new family of 3!
