Meet beautiful Dia, that came to see me for her newborn session! Most times, I get the newborn sessions done the very first time, but every now and then, it happens when for a reason or another, my newborn clients have a “false start” and we have to reschedule the session to another day. Out of my 7 year career, this has happened 5 times. Dia was one of of them and the second time I saw her, as with all of my reschedules, the session went SO well. She was as sleepy as she could be and was absolutely perfect. Her mom, who is the owner of Nicole Marie Salon, had the vision for the photo below since she found out that she was having a girl, and this photo ended up being one of my most talked about photo! People are obsessed with how cute Dia looks in it! I have to agree 😉 This was a difficult pose to create and she let me pose her without making a peep! She knew how much her mama wanted it, I say! I am so happy with how the session came together in the end, and Dia’s mom now has the photos she dreamed of so of her beautiful baby girl, and that’s all that counts! Mission accomplished 🙂 Congratulations to this amazing family of 4!

How about this little sweetie?! Beautiful Rioux came to see me on her 8th day of life, her mommy has been my client since she was expecting Rioux’s big sister Lennox (see her session HERE) and I was very excited to meet their newest addition! Rioux was absolutely identical to Lennox and I really felt as though I was posing the same baby twice! Rioux (pronounced “Roo”) was a lot sleepier though; this baby girl slept oh so soundly throughout the entire session and I was done in lightning time! She was a doll to pose and had such relaxed fingers! She is the baby out of 4 kids, and now their family is complete! Congratulations to this new family of 6! I’m looking forward to seeing Rioux grow!

Bliss | Fine Art Maternity Photography in Chicago
Meet this beautiful couple that came to see me! Mom had booked this session a while back so I was excited to finally meet her! She wanted beautiful, yet simple fine art maternity photos so I knew I wanted to go with simple back lit images, that are stunning and timeless. They also had sweatshirts that had personal meaning to them of Barack and Michelle Obama, so we made sure to take some photos with those, and the elephant that has their precious baby girl’s heartbeat in it. I will also be meeting this little one for her newborn photos and I can’t wait! This couple was so fun, and a genuinely kind couple, and that made it so easy and effortless to work with them, and they are SO happy! There’s nothing like that first pregnancy experience. It’s pure bliss. The newborn session will be as amazing as this one, I already know!

Meet handsome Ade (name is pronounced “ah-day”) who came to see me on his 10th day Earth side. What. a. sweetheart! When his parents gave him to me I could already see how sleepy he was, and as soon as I started posing him, he gave me the biggest smile that you see right here! I had so many frames to choose from, it was if he wanted to make sure I got it 🙂 after that we moved on so smoothly, he was just so perfect! He was the best model and was so good to me. As I was posing him I would talk to him and thank him for being so sweet to me and would call him “snuggle bug” because he would curl right in my arms when I would hold him. At the end of the session we were able to get some shots with Ade’s parents, and his big brother, who is only 16 months older than him. He did a really good job too, I was extremely proud of him. And he was a handsome lil guy too, with his blue eyes and red hair!! Congratulations to this beautiful family!

Ade’s parents brought in most of his props (including the gorgeous leather teddy bear by Coach), but the lace items used in his session are by the only prop knitter I trust, The Knitting Bitty. All items are perfection and the exact size to fit any newborn!
